Introduced in the early 1960s following Gibson’s transition away from the Les Paul body shape, the SG Junior quickly established itself as a stripped-back, high-performance instrument; by 1963, the design had reached a particularly refined stage, combining a slim, fast-playing neck profile with lightweight mahogany construction—features that have since made this period especially sought after by collectors.

Equipped with its original P-90 pickup, this example delivers the unmistakable tone these guitars are known for—direct, dynamic, and rich in midrange character. The instrument resonates beautifully, with excellent sustain and responsiveness.
